Thrifting & Organizing!

I went into my "craft" room this morning and realize just what a HUGE disaster it was. It was never organized to begin with. I just kept buying stuff here and there when I started Pretty Nods and just kept piling it up on my table and desk until. Then you add a four year old who wants to "craft" with you which means she takes scraps of material and cuts them into tiny pieces all over the floor, etc. And you get my craft room - see photo below! Lol! But I didn't really have anything to put stuff in to help get it organized so while I was out running errands I decided to drop by one of our local thrift stores to see if I could find some baskets and jars. And I totally lucked out because it happened to be 1/2 off storewide! Woohoo! So here's what I got:

(Three baskets - to hold headbands, material and finished product)

(A clay pot to hold my glue sticks, a really neat pottery piece to hold scissors and pens and a tiny little jar to hold my sewing needles.)

(This awesome amber glass vase, not sure what I'll do with it yet but for 50 cents why not?
And this totally great wicker purse, it had a couple of small pick spots but still great!)

(Two things for the wall to hang stuff from....)

(My room before, don't judge!)

(My room after - and I moved Gi's tiny desk in so that she has her own little "crafting " corner!)

(Oh yeah that's me, I love wearing my hair up like this with a headband now! Oh, and I got this cute lamp, I'm going to add some rosettes to the shade to spice it up a bit but I needed one because mid afternoon my craft room, even with the light on, doesn't get enough light over my desk area so this should help!)

But you know what the best part is? I paid $8 for EVERYTHING! Yes, ma'am!
I was thrilled and my room looks awesome now!
Time to get crafty!

  2. It's so cool that you have a craft room there's one in my house and it tends to be a total mess, all DIY projects are done there, and my mom being an arts teacher even more, yours looks really great! Is that a flower headband? pretty!

  3. I'm not an organized person at all so it takes a lot of creativity for me to get there! And yes, Cess, that's a flower headband. I make them, I have a (currently neglected!) Etsy shop. Hoping to get that up and running better soon......
