I love hair.....I love changing mine up and I got back and forth between long and short. I've had mine as short as a boy cut and as long as the picture above. I've had no bangs, side fringe and blunt bangs. It's been red, blonde (gag!), brown and black. I really do enjoy doing hair too - and who knows, maybe as some point I'll renew my license and start doing hair again! I'm in the process of growing mine out, again! I'm not coloring it, not until next summer and then I plan to lighten it a bit and go a reddish brown like Kristen Stewart's in this picture. I don't care what any one says, I think KS is beautiful! She can be so effortlessly beautiful and then totally grunge and then vintage sexy.......I love her slightly awkward charm! And I plan on my hair looking like this......at some point. I feel like mine is growing SO slow right now. I hate the growing out process, it's boring and no so pretty. Mine is at that awful stage of no longer being short and no where close to long yet. My "bangs" are the devil - kind of a side fringe now but flat and boring. But I'm bearing through it no matter how awful it looks! About this point last time I gave in and cut them off again only to decide a few days later I really did want to grow them out! I'm a little fickle - but this time around I'm keeping an eye on the "goal" and any time I feel the need to cut my hair I'll go back and look at these pictures and remind myself of where I'm going. Lol!

When I Waver....
There are days when I waver - I waver in my faith, in my belief and the strength I know God has given me and provided for me to draw from every day. I see my lack of patience and understanding and I begin to wonder how God could intrust me with any kind of vision. Am I ready for something that big or something that requires that much faith and patience? There are days when I think about the vision God has given me and it seems "easy" and I think "Of course we can do this!" but there are other days when the very thought of the task(s) God has laid on my heart seem so overwhelming I can't even let myself think about it lest my heart fail me. I wish that I didn't have a wavering heart, I wish my faith was solid and that I never, not once, doubted that God wouldn't give me more then He knows I am capable of. Even though my heart knows this sometimes my head doubts it! I feel like there are so many in's and outs', so many possibilities and so many questions to go along with it all. I like to know details about where I'm going and what I'm doing but the details are never there. I feel like I'm blinding groping around waiting for someone to tell me I'm there. I pray daily for God to grant me the faith I need to accomplish what He has placed in my heart, that He would provide the path, the means and the people we need around us to make it all happen. I pray daily that He'll show us exactly where we're supposed to go and what we're supposed to do. Neither of us feel like we are supposed to stay where we are (location wise) but at the same time we aren't sure where we wanna go exactly. Praying for wisdom and direction seems to be a constant pray on my tongue and my heart lately. I know that He has amazing plan for our lives, and I want to make sure we accomplish it and fulfill it so that we have no regrets at the end of this life. I feel like lately I have grown up and changed so much, at least mentally. It's not easy but I'm learning as I go. There are so many things you think you know when you are younger - no one can change your mind but as you grow, as you discover who you are in Christ these things and beliefs change as your heart does. I'm learning not to feel embarrassed that I "screwed up" or that I was "wrong" but instead admit that God has done a work in me instead. I am praying that God grant me the strength to stand firm in what I know He has placed in me and to continue to discover what He has for me and my family in the future. That He will guide my every step and move and that in all we say and do, in the end, all anyone can see is His stamp of approval on it! I pray that even when I waver I am quick to grasp hold of Him and pull myself upright again and keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Fire it up and Shred it!
So I started The 30 Day Shred today on top of my usual Turbo Fire work out's. I'm pretty excited, I think it's fun to try something different. When it comes to working out variety is key to keeping you motivated and interested. Today my total work out time was 60 minutes. 30 minute "Fire" work out, 10 minute Turbo Fire Stretch and 20 minute Level 1 Shred work out. I honestly can't imagine only doing the Shred because I don't care how intense it gets by Level 3 20 minutes of working out isn't going to cut it, at least not for me! My biggest thing is making sure I keep my eating on track, if I do I think I'll be good. I won't lose 20lbs like the Shred promises but I'm hoping to lose at least 5lbs. And then another 5lbs. by my anniversary on August 5th. That will put my at my goal weight! So we'll see.....summer is the hardest time for me to eat right because I just want to chill by the pool and eat junk like ice cream, cookies and chips. Don't ask me why it's just how I am.....lol! So I'm trying to mentally really get in gear - and after seeing pictures of my backside....sheesh, that should get anyone motivated!!!! Lol! So why not try it too? Link up and go HERE to get the details and the link button. And seriously, the dvd costs $10 brand new at Wal-Mart and you can start tomorrow - it's originally the 1st-30th of June but I started today and will go until July 4th. And if you decide to do it too let me know, I'm always looking for fitness buddies!

Time For Ten

1. I've admitted before that here at the Carroll household we love us some Justin Bieber! I think he's adorable, his music is cute, the kid can DANCE, and my daughter just loves him! Recently he's been sporting some new tattoos and I'm all about it - love some tattoos too. But he has one that just....oh, it's just bad! Lol! He got the outline of a star around his elbow. Good grief, dude, that tattoo is on every dude that wants a tattoo but has no idea what to get! It's so cheesy and very much a "trend" tattoo - ya know, like barbed wire around your forearm and such.....yeah, he should have thought that through more!
2. Tomorrow I'm joining a few fellow bloggers and doing The 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michael's. I love her on the Biggest Loser and I'm so sad she's going but she's tough and very motivated and I've heard lots of good things about it. I picked up the dvd at Wal-Mart today for $10. I'll be doing it along with my Turbo Fire routine because it's only like 20 minute daily work outs and I can't bring myself to only work out 20 minutes. No flippin' way! I've been doubling my workouts this week doing both Insanity and Turbo Fire but sometimes that can run into almost two hours and that's a little too long for me, but an hour and 20 minutes I can do! Tomorrow I'll post my "before" pics and measurements, part of the challenge.
3. I'm already looking forward to July 4th - Gianna and I were floating around the pool the other day talking about it and she really wants to make a cake with strawberries and blueberries so I told her we'd make one of those "flag" cakes with strawberries and blueberries on it for July 4th! She's really thrilled! We also decided to make chocolate cupcakes for my birthday - but that's not until the end of August....right before she starts school! We usually got to downtown Asheville and watch the fireworks because they have such an amazing display they put on.....
4. We watched Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader last night. I can't say I was overly impressed. It's a good movie, the actors are good, the scenes are done well, the effects are great but overall it just seems very childish to me. Especially since I've read all the books multiple times and they are SO amazing. Although I am eager to see how (and if) they do The Silver Chair. It's my favorite and it could be really amazing if they'd let it.
5. Coldplay's new single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" came out today and you have no idea how excited me and the Hubs were! We are huge Coldplay fans and they simply are incredible writers and musicians and of course as always they delivered!!! You can go HERE and listen to it...
6. My dad and brother are coming into town tomorrow and my sister just happens to be off work for the next two days so I think we'll be spending some time out at the pool ( of course!) and maybe throwing some chicken are the grill! I am loving summer this year.....I'm usually a Fall/Winter fan but this past winter sucked. It was so cold, we got lots of snow and ice and having to heat the house with a wood stove was NOT fun in the least. I'm totally not complaining about hot weather this time around especially since this year I can walk out my back door and hop in the pool anytime I want! It rocks and my tan is coming along quite nicely!
7. Gianna has rediscovered her baby doll - she goes through phases with various stuffed animals and dolls. For a week or so she'll be totally attached to one or the other then suddenly it will be thrown aside and something else will take it's place. For awhile it was the matching monkey's she got for Valentine's Day, then it was this Foofa doll my mom got her, then it was these two frog stuffed animals that matched her frog jammies, now it's her baby doll that makes sucking sounds when you put it's paci in it's mouth. It came in a pair of flannel pj's and it looked so hot her carrying it around today (sill I know, but it was making her arm sweat!) so I took her to Wal-Mart and bought it a cute little summer dress (and doll clothes are almost as freakin' much as kids clothes! I mean seriously, I could have bought Gianna a dress for what I paid for that little doll dress.) but she just loves it and she's currently walking around with it waiting to take it back to Wal-Mart and go grocery shopping! She told me the other day that when she grows up she wants to be a mommy! So sweet! She also informed us we are THE best family ever......it kinda chokes me up when she says things like that because I know that despite what I feel are failures and flaws she sees us in a whole different way!
8. I'm in love with "nude" color nail polish! I painted mine and Gi's toenails this morning and it's so pretty and fresh. And it totally looks great on tanned feet like ours. Gianna isn't getting much sun anywhere but her legs because she wears so many floaties in the pool she's covered from neck to waist! But she loves having the "freedom" that all those floaties bring her in the pool!
9. Pet Peeve - when people act like their lifestyle isn't something they have chosen. They act like where they are or how they are in life isn't something they've made the choice to have. Don't complain about the fun other people get to have when you have chosen to be the way you are and how you are. Just own up and admit you made a mistake, correct it and move on.....
10. The hubby has a new music project going on right now - he's still going to do stuff under his "solo" name, Stranger In Bree. But he's also started a group project with a friend of his and they are going by The Echo. You should check them out! They are working on their first EP.
http://www.facebook.com/TheEchoOfficial
They also have links to their Myspace, their YouTube channel and their Twitter. So look them up and "like" and "follow" them! Fun stuff ahead!

The beauty of a child....

I don't think I talk enough about my daughter - I'm not an over the top, mushy gushy kinda person. Sometimes I wish I were but even though I think mushy gushy stuff about my daughter I just don't talk about it alot. But yesterday, while I was out mowing (yes, that's a good place to do some praying and thinking), Gianna was running around picking flowers and dancing around in her bright yellow sun dress it just struck me, in a whole new way, what beauty a child possesses. Whether or not that child is what the world terms as "beautiful" or not there is still a precious, innocence about them that make them breath taking.

I watch my daughter greet each day with a brightness that I often envy and most recently have tried to copy. I want to find beauty and joy in the day like she does. She finds simple pleasures so fun - yesterday we spent some time in the pool, just floating around, squirting each other with water "guns" and chit chatting. Later she informed me that she had "so much fun." Watching her laugh and giggle as we tousled around on the floor last night, tickling each other. I miss her baby-ness sometimes, I won't lie. But I love this age too - the discovering, the bravery, the outgoingness, the endless possibilities.

My hubby found some old videos on his computer of her several years ago, not even two yet I don't think and hearing her tiny baby voice and the way she said "care-pull" instead of "careful"......it almost brought tears to my eyes. And all of a sudden I realized just how grown up she is. And how quickly time passes....wasn't it just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital? And yet, in other ways, I don't remember life without her!

I watch her creative side - how she puts things together and pretends. I love seeing her discover her favorites - right now her favorites are Bubble Guppies, Justin Bieber, her checkered "golf" skirt, strawberry anything, waffles (still!) and swimming.
I find her zest and excitement for meeting people and playing with other kids grand - I want her to be outgoing and friendly. She is so excited about school and I know she's going to do so well there. Her love of music and her love of spending time with her daddy, make me so proud!

I also see her sensitive side - the side that hates to be wrong or mess up. The way she gets so heart broken when she does something wrong and gets scolded or corrected. Or the way she is so concerned about other children's opinion of her. I do my best to encourage her to be who she is and not worry about what the other kids think but I already see her desire to be accepted.

I hope and pray that I'm teaching her well, that she is learning from me in a positive way. I don't want to raise her to be ungrateful and unsatisfied, yet at the same time I hope to teach her to work hard for what she wants and to not give up on dreams and hopes. To not become consumed with pleasing anyone but God and knowing in her heart when things are right. I hope to raise a polite, caring, loving, bright, smart young lady who knows who she is!

I am overwhelmed sometimes that I have been entrusted with this amazing little life! That God saw me fit to the best parent I can be, I'm not perfect, not even close. But I'm trying my very best to be a good mother and a great friend. I want to be a trust worthy source of strength and advice for my daughter, someone she knows she can turn to without fear of judgment or resentment for her choices and/or mistakes and triumphs!
I love my daughter more then anything.....
I hope that I'm providing her with a home and a life full of
love, joy and beautiful memories.
I don't want her to remember me as being boring, or stressed, or disconnected.
I hope she sees that I gave being a mother my all.
Motherhood isn't something I planned on, but I've long ago realized
that sometimes our plans aren't the best plans -
I would have missed out on so many amazing moments
if I hadn't become a mother!
