An Untitled Post

So I won't bore you with the boring details (or lack of!) of our day.
It was Saturday - the Hubs got up and went to golf
with some friends today despite the rain
and freezing cold!
True golfers are nuts, they'll play in anything, I swear!
Bug and I stayed home and did stuff around the house......
Then we had dinner over at the in-laws house.
And that sums up our exciting Saturday!

Tomorrow we'll head to church in the morning,
grab some stuff for the Super Bowl "get together"
and then cheer on the Packers!!!
I don't know that I own anything green or yellow
but we'll be cheering non the less!
Enjoy Super Bowl Sunday, peeps!

Black

So yes, I'll admit it - I love black! Always have, probably always will. Even though it's not considered a true "color" it's still my favorite. After that probably grey - lol! No seriously, I really do try to put color into my clothing choices but over and over I find myself drawn the black clothing. Not because I'm dark or emo or anything like that. I find black comforting, I find it classic, I find that you can mix and match black a lot easier then other things. I guess because growing up, and even now, I never had a ton of clothes. I probably have more than some people do but still my wardrobe is fairly limited! I've just always found that have some great black clothing you feel like people don't notice that you wear the same things or mix and match. I do like some lighter colors during the summer but don't think that summer ever stops me from donning a little black from time to time - a great black tank top will never be wrong! So here are a few great black outfits - I love getting ideas from celebrities and other fashionable people!

(Kristen Stewart)

(Tabatha Coffey - I LOVE her show!)

(Stacie Orrico - I think she's so pretty!)

(Ashley Greene - always fabulous!)

(Love the black pants and leather jacket.....)

(My absolute favorite outfit! Grunge meets classic!)

(Gorgeous outfit, fabulous shoes!)

A Day in the Rain

It was one heck of a nasty day out today! I'm pretty sure it rained non stop all day long. And not just drizzle but serious rain. But we didn't let that stop us enjoying a day out! We were afraid the roads might be a little icy because it got pretty cold last night but by lunch time when we left it was nothing but really wet. I worked out and got Bug and I cleaned up and ready to go, practiced piano for a bit and just took our time this morning.....we left around lunch time and went through the drive through at Taco Bell because it was so nasty and Bug was already asleep - something about riding in the car puts her out! It never fails that she takes some sort of nap when we ride somewhere. But since I don't make her nap at home it all works out! Once we grabbed some lunch we headed over to an indoor bounce place called Kidz Play. It's a huge building full of all those huge blow up slides and bounce houses. For $5 your kid can spend as long as they want bouncing like mad and totally burning up all that pent up energy these long winter days have stored up. Bug was so thrilled! I actually took her the other day and although they were "open" all the bounce houses were down for maintenance. Needless to say I left with a very disappointed child and lots of promises to come back soon so she could play. And this seemed like the perfect day......

She really did have so much fun and all those smiles and laughs made our day much sunnier! After all that running and bouncy she was a very quiet and relaxed little munchkin on the ride out of town to the mall......
We browsed the mall - we told Bug we would buy her something while we were there. Her instant request? Cotton Candy. Yes. We told her we'd try to find some. We lucked out at a candy store and a pre packaged bag of cotton candy. She was slightly bummed it wasn't on a little paper cone stick like you get at the fair or the circus but she claimed it was the yummiest ever. It's so easy to please a three year old, well, most of the time!

We stopped for an early dinner at Outback - on the weekends it's best to go about 4 or 4:30pm when they first open up. Then you walk right in and sit right down (baby, let your hair hang down....sorry, just had too! lol!). I like to sit in the "lounge" area near the bar. The booths are higher and feel a little more private than the other tables. My steak was perfection, of course, it's Outback! It's funny because growing up I always ate my steak well done, then in my teen years I moved to medium-well. When I started dating, and then later married, my husband he let me know that was ruining a good piece of meat and talked me into moving on up to medium. He eats his medium rare and I didn't think I'd ever go that far! But lately I've found that medium just seems to done for me, even at Outback. So I've moved on up to Medium-rare now! After that we set out on the journey home, made a quick stop at Wal-Mart for some essentials (it's amazing how quickly you go through food when you are eating right - it's hard to keep fruit and veggies in the house and protein bars!), and then our final stop - home sweet home.

Bug is in love with smoothies lately - I got her hooked! I usually try to make her one in the morning and I sneak in spinach and fiber powder. She never notices. But sometimes she wants one as a snack at night instead and she likes to "help" me make them so no sneaking spinach into those! (And don't you just LOVE her adorable jammies?!!! Thanks, Old Navy!)

(Sweet Bug! Lol! Sticking her tongue out when I told her to
smile, still cute though!)

Under Construction

Some of my lovely followers and comment "leavers"
have let me know that since I changed my
blog template some of them have been having a hard
time leaving comments.
And that will NEVER do, so for the next little bit
I'm going to be attempting to change some things around on here.
Since I'm html illiterate it could get ugly!
So bear with me and keep checking back!

Ah, the weekend!

So I mentioned the other day on my Facebook page that my "bangs" driving me nuts.
My plan was to grow them out a long with the rest of my hair.
I thought I'd try to "no bang" look for awhile because I've had some kind
of fringe or bang for a long time now.
But they were long enough that a couple of times I had worn the pinned back
or pulled back and ICK!
Let's just say my forehead is WAY too high to do that and it look cute!
Plus they just looked stringy and flat.
I need a little "umph" and bangs give me that.
Bug's were starting to hang in her eyes pretty bad too so I decided
we'd have bang trimming party last night.
And we did just that!
I knocked about half an inch off hers, where they still brush the lower part
of her eyebrows but they aren't all in her eyes.
After I was done she said, "I can see!" Lol! Poor baby!
I took a good 2 or 2 1/2 inches off mine and I'm SO glad.
It's so nice to have them back and I just think, personally, I look so much
better with some bangs.
Here's a "before" and "after" of my bang trim.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bug lives in her ballet stuff practically these days.....
I dress her and then a few minutes later she says "Can I dress up to a ballerina?!"
"Yeeessss....." Lol!

And later she redressed her self and added her clear flip flops - she was thrilled
that she found them. Dang, I thought I had hidden those so well! Haha!
Besides tackling the floors in my house today I also tackled Bug's room.
I'm afraid I let it go and let it go and then just tackle it all in one
afternoon! Probably not the best philosophy but it works for me!
Today I also cleaned out her clothes too. She gets new stuff, I get rid of older stuff
or stuff I know I just never put on her.
I'm also gearing up for WeeRuns again this year. I liked doing it last year and it's
nice to get in to the early because I'm a "seller". I'm excited about
shopping for cute summer clothes in March! But right now I'm just collecting
stuff and getting it together to go to the sale.
I actually did ALOT better then I thought I would back in September.
I was really pleased with what I made. It pretty much covered what I spent!
But here are the "before" and "afters" of her room today.....

I'm glad the weekend is upon us. Our weekends start on Thursday night because the
Hubs works four 10 hour days a week and then has three days off.
I love it!
Tonight he cooked up some ribeye steaks and we made corn on the cob
and we were all very happy campers! I ate a little more steak then
I should have but hey, it's protein and it was too good to pass up.
If that's the worst of my "splurges" then I'm good!
I'm half way through Insanity and I've lost 4.5lbs.
So far so good. Hopefully this next month I'll see that last 5lbs go.
Once I'm done with this round of Insanity I'm moving on to Turbo Fire!!!
I'm bound to have abs by the time summer hits,
I'm already starting to see some definition that I'm pretty excited about!

We're finishing off tonight watching Couples Retreat. I've had it on our movie
list on Netflix for awhile and I think it'll be funny.
I'm in the mood for something funny and bright.
So I'll let you know later how it was!

THE Cutest face.

Seriously, is she not the cutest thing ever?!

A daughter is the happy memories of the past,
the joyful moments of the present,
and the hope and promise of the future.

Simply Put....

Simply put - I got lazy yesterday and never took the time to blog.
But I did enjoy reading all my blogger friend's posts!
They always have such fun, interesting, helpful, encouraging things to say and I just
love it.
I'm going to be gone pretty much all day today -
going to S'burg to get Bug a few more ballet things, I don't know who is more
obsessed, her or her Grandma!
But I'm blessed that she will be completely outfitted for dance lessons
by the time she starts next Monday!
After that we are headed in the opposite direction to my mother in law's
doctor appointment. She has struggled with some time with her feet,
she's had two or three surgeries on them, pins, bars, etc put in. Yikes!
But she has a problem where the bones in her feet actually start
rotating! Ouch! It's quite painful and basically she has to have the "fixed" every
5 years or so. This is just an examination so I agreed to go with
her and see what they have to say.
We won't be back till dinner time.

Last night the hubs cooked up another amazing sirloin for dinner,
along with steamed broccoli and salad.
My hubby has made the commitment to stick with a healthy eating
plan (minus Super Bowl day and Valentine's!) for the month
of February. My hubby is the kind that really has never needed,
nor does he truly "need" it now, a diet or a eating plan.
He can pretty much eat anything and still look great!
But I'm proud of him for taking the challenge, mainly challenging
himself. It's good to know you have the motivation and discipline to set out
and do something you've set for yourself to do.
I could tell his first day yesterday was hard, it is for everyone.
But he did well and I'm proud of him!
(P.S. I think the picture above would be a great tattoo on my hubby,
just sayin'! For those of you who don't know, my hubby is a musician
and I have been begging him to get at least one tattoo for quite
awhile now. I have 4 and I'm planning another one soon,
but he just hasn't found anything he "wants on his body
for the rest of his life!" Soooo.....I keep making suggestions!)

I just wanted to let you know I'm still alive and I will be back!
