Waiting....

So we are waiting to see if we get snowed in tonight. They keep saying it's going to get pretty bad so we'll see! But for now we are going to snuggle up and watch Inception and wait to see if the snow comes pouring down or not!

We had a good day - church, ran some errands and collected wood and got the house ready in case it does get bad later on.

Spent some time at the in-laws house and had dinner - yummy chili! Bug loves to hang out with all the kittens and playing dress up while we are over there.

Yeah, this is a crappy blog post but it's better then nothing! Right now I just wanna go watch a movie with my hubby!!! I'll check in tomorrow, peeps!

Me & the Mister

Tonight me and the mister got to go out on a bit of an unexpected date. I started off the day with a great work out, then cleaned up and took Bug and headed over to the mother in law's house. We took a quick ride out of town to get some hair supplies I needed to do some people's hair next week. After that I figured we'd just head home and hang out at the house for the rest of the night but she offered to keep Bug for a while so that the Mr. and I could have a much needed date night out!

The start of the New Year has been a bit rough on us - just things here and there that have happened and come up. We've been feeling a bit on edge about things and with each other. I'm pretty sure this happens with most normal couples in a relationship or marriage. There just comes a point when circumstances and life seem to weigh on you heavier then normal and of course the person you are closest to gets the brunt of it. Poor spouses! Lol! Of course there are those couple who never get into it and never fight and that's because they either are just perfectly matched as far as personalities go (and those are rare although I think we know one couple!) or there is a uneven match up - ya know where one person is "in charge" and the other just goes along with it to keep the other one happy (I know alot of those! Lol!)

But the Mr. and I just needed some time out to reconnect and enjoy each other outside of thinking about the stresses of life. So we took off and went out to dinner at our favorite place - Outback! Hooray! Even though my hubby worked there for quite some time and we've eaten there hundreds of times it never gets old and the food is always delicious. You can't go wrong there, and if you do, somethings wrong with you! Just kidding. But seriously - we both had steaks, I skipped the bread and appetizer since I'm doing the Insanity diet but throughly enjoyed my salad, steak and broccoli with a little cheese! Not to mention great company, very pleasing to the eye kinda company!

It was a good, unexpected night out....and I've learned that no matter how rough things get or out of hand they seem at times in the end I know that no matter what I want my Mr. by my side and I want to be by his. Truly, I just love him!

Even in the hard times try not to forget to thank God for your "other half"! You wanted to be with them for a reason, and they with you - don't let circumstances, issues, problems, or day to day routines let you forget that! Love the one you're with!

Celebrate Good Times!

Last night we had Sister/Girls Night Out! It was a lot of fun and we had a blast together. My sister, C, even let my sister, D, the birthday girl, drive her convertible!!! BIG step for C, I think besides her and her hubby D was the first person to drive it. D was thrilled and it was a great start to the evening. We all got dressed up and headed out into the chilly night. We didn't realize they were calling for rain/snow until the last minute but decided to brave it anyway. It was cold and rainy but the roads were fine, and there was no snow. We headed up the mountain to Asheville and ate dinner at P.F. Changs. Oh, so yummy! And the atmosphere there is fabulous as well. We couldn't decide if our server was a manly woman or a womanly man! Lol! Dinner was good, I ate a little too much but didn't touch the dessert! After dinner we traipsed about in the rain and hit up Barnes & Nobles to browse through the fashion/gossip magazines just for a bit before our movie started. We went and saw How Do You Know? with Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd. Really long, not the most exciting ending but a cute chick flick non the less! We really wanted to see Country Strong but it doesn't come out until Friday. I have a list of movies going already that I can't wait to to see this year!

I hated to see my mom and sis head back to Bama this morning but it was fun getting to spend a few days hanging out with them. Living in separate states makes me appreciate the time we do get to spend together a lot more! But I am glad I got to be with my little sis on her 18th birthday. Maybe if I start planning now I can throw her a big bash for her 21st birthday, oh, wait, she said she didn't want one. Oh, well! But here a few pictures from our fun night out....

Happy Birthday!

Just wanted to swing by my blog here this morning and wish my now 18 year old sister a very happy, happy birthday today!!! I still remember the day she was born - me and my little sis, C, gathered around my grandparents telephone listening to my Dad announce her arrival (At the time I was a wee bit disappointed she wasn't a brother! Lol!). But I wouldn't trade her for all the brothers in the world, truly! She is my friend and buddy and I love hanging out with her. She's funny, opinionated and one-of-a-kind!!! Happy Birthday, DeeAnna Joy! I can't believe you are 18 already!

Photos from lunch....

Just wanted to share a few quick photos I snapped on our lunch date today. All us "girls" - my mom, my sisters and my little munchkin! We went to a yummy Asian place here in town. It was fun just hanging out together, laughing and cutting and up and "celebrating" the fact that after three year my sis, D, finally got her braces off the day before her 18th birthday!!!

Worst Blogger Award!

(Too funny not to share!)

I'm pretty sure I should get the "worst blogger" award. My blogging has been so behind and I've had several lovely blog ideas that I just haven't had a chance to sit down and put together for you. I still haven't had a chance to share my wonderful thrift store finds that I got the other day. It was quite a successful outing!

Like I shared before my weekend didn't go off as great as I hoped and then the week started out with a trip to the dentist for Bug yesterday and then my sis and mom are in town for a few days. My little sister is turning 18 and we are having a sister "date" out tomorrow, I think. It's quite interesting when you get all three of us girls together (ages 24, 21 and almost 18!). We are all SO different. My 21 yr old sis and I are both married now. I've been married to 5 1/2 years, she's been married a few months and my 18 yr old sis says that having a boyfriend or getting married is WAY down on her list of things to do. Too much trouble she says! I tend to have more in common with my 18 yr old sis, D then I do my other sister, C. Although I love them both dearly. I'm looking forward to getting out - my mom is going to spend some quality time with Bug while we are gone. I know she misses her alot now that they've had to move......but I promise I'll take my camera tomorrow and snap pictures of us out and about! I think we may hit up P.F. Changs! Mmmm, yummy! Self control, Alaythea, self control!

On a much less happy note, my almost 4 year old daughter has started having a crazy amount of accidents lately. Wetting the bed, wetting herself. She has had potty training down for over a year now. She never wets the bed, I never even carry changes to clothes or anything when we go out because I don't remember the last time she had an accident. Until this past week. She's wet the bed three different nights, she peed herself when she fell asleep in the car the other day and then last night we were all sitting around and she announced she needed "fresh panties" which means she's peed in them, and boy, had she peed! She had just completely emptied her bladder on the chair. I was shocked, and so angry. Needless to say, she got cleaned up and went straight to bed. Only to wake up yelling at me this morning that she once again needed fresh panties. I was nearly in tears. Since this is my first (and ONLY!)child I don't know if this is something I should expect, something that in another week or two will go back to normal or not. I don't know what's causing it. Nothing has really changed lately. Goodness, I have no idea. If any of you lovely bloggers mom wanna help me out or throw a little encouragement my way I'm totally up for it!

Yesterday we went to the dentist. Bug's dentist is over an hour drive away - she's only been one other time. They only allow one parent back with the child and so last time we went Bug had opted on her daddy going back with her. So I didn't see the place or meet the dentist or anything. This time I went alone so I took her back. Of course as soon as they called her name she burst into tears. I had talked about this, shown her books, explained everything, etc. Tried to reassure her this wasn't the doctor, he was different. He wouldn't take off her clothes or examine her, NO shots. For those of you who are new to my blog, for the past year my daughter had been dealing with kidney reflux so she's had ALOT of kidney and bladder infections, lots of trips to the doctor, lots of shots and needles and she is absolutely terrified of the doctor now or anything that resembles it. So back to the dentist, they put us three to a room - there are three stations/chairs in each room so three kids to a room. At first the two little boys in the room with us seemed fine, so I keep showing Bug they weren't scared, etc. She finally started calming down just a bit when they started to work on the 7 yr. old boy next to us, who had a loose tooth and was scared they were going to touch it so he started screaming and yelling and of course Bug flipped out again. I could have hit that little boy! Lol! But they were super nice and talked her through it, let her show them how she brushed, counted her teeth, etc. The dentist checked them out and confirmed that she has the HUGE cavity we keep trying to have filled and another tiny one in another tooth. I signed all the paperwork I needed to and as soon as the physical consent form is signed by her pediatrician they will schedule her for the filling procedure. Luckily she'll be sedated for that one!

We had lunch after that with my Mom and sis who had made it into town from AL. I ordered a chef salad with dressing on the side. It's easier to control the portions....when it came out I was SHOCKED! It was HUGE!!! I got it without cheese but kept the turkey and ham. I swear, there must have been a pound of meat on top of this salad, I wish to God I had taken a picture to share with you. I took an extra plate and dug out the lettuce and tomato under it all and used about 1/8 of the meat and took the rest home. I will say it's very frustrating when restaurant don't offer any Light or fat free dressings. I guess I need to get some packs I can carry with me. Lots of places have an oil and vinegar based dressing but I've found most of the time those have just as much fat and calories and good ole ranch which I prefer so I just use it sparingly. So far my diet is going well....this is day 3 and I'm about to work out. Hoping a good work out will get me in the right frame of mind for the rest of the day!

Sorry, there are no pictures. I was getting really good about that, I need to get back to it!!! Hopefully my next blog will be better thought out and put together!

Oh, and thanks to all my new followers! It thrills me to see that, I hope this blog is entertaining, or at least interesting on some level. Leave me comments, I love to hear from you!!! This morning I got up and I have two new followers, hooray!!!

*Sigh*

I know that everyone has probably been waiting for my "Yay, it's 2011!" post and you're probably wondering where it is. You probably won't get it! So don't hold your breath any longer! To be quite honest, 2011 started off rather sour for me. No particular event or great calamity was the cause of this. Just little things here and there that built up. I went to bed around 10pm on New's Year Eve in a crabby mood - we went out with the in-laws to Outback for dinner. We had a good time with them but the restaurant was crazy packed and Bug couldn't sit still at dinner, etc. I can't say New Years Day was much better really. Just stayed around the house, made some snacks and watched football but even that wasn't very exciting - even though the Tide Rolled and we kicked butt it still just wasn't exciting.

It's kinda hard for me to really believe it's a new year. I realize this one is going to go by just as quick or quicker then last year. That kinda scares me in some ways because it means I'm getting older faster, my daughter is growing and changing faster then I can wrap my mind around, we are kinda stuck in limbo as far as what we want to do and where we want to be and how we'll get there. I keep praying for this miraculous answer - that suddenly we'll just KNOW what we're supposed to do and how we're supposed to get there. But I've learned that God doesn't usually work that way! And my patience is thin.

The past week or so it just seems like one thing after the other is going wrong - I realized the other day that the Jeep I drive, which is kinda borrowed from my parents, doesn't have any paper work in it. No registration, no insurance card, NADA. So now I'm freaked out to drive it because IF I did get stopped (and I've only ever been stopped one time for spending, and got off with a warning!) I would be in HUGE trouble! But my parents of course can't find the paperwork. *Sigh* We've also been dealing with a mouse problem. Yep, we live out in the country, not alot of neighbors around, in a old farmhouse. So during the winter apparently this is the field mice populations go to place to keep warm. In the past week we have caught 6 mice. SIX!!! I'm terrified to go in my own kitchen. One came scrambling out the other day and my cats tried to catch it, I screamed and ran! We've put up all the food, we never leave out dirty dishes. I don't know what's drawing them. *Sigh* "Our" main TV went out - we have two. A large one in the living room and a smaller one in my work out room. We don't know what's wrong with it. *sigh* I could keep going on but I'll leave it at that. So now maybe you can see why I haven't really been in a celebrating mood! I'm really trying to stay positive but my grin is a bit forced.

Today was my first official day back on my Insanity work out/diet plan. The first week is so hard but after that I get into a routine and it's a little easier. It's never easy but it gets easier. Fixing all the food is not too hard when you are at home but when I know I'm going to be gone for most of the day or out and about it is hard. I have to make sure I plan ahead and prepare and pack all the food I have to take with me. And some of it isn't easy to just throw into a cooler and go. Tomorrow I have to drive just over an hour to take my daughter to the dentist. That in itself has been a nightmare, trying for six months to get her tooth filled. They still aren't filling it tomorrow. She is getting them cleaned and then I have to sign paperwork so that they'll make the appt. to have her tooth filled. And they've had my money for months as well....*sigh*

Ok, so this blog is depressing! I swear I'll cheer up soon and be back with some happy posting! For now my hubby and father in law are tearing up the floor in the counter under the sink and attempting to seal it off so that hopefully mice can't come up through it....keeping our fingers crossed.
